New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was praised for his brilliant masterclass in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against India. Earlier in the game, he won the toss and elected to bowl first citing the cloudy weather at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Although Kiwis failed to take early wickets, their bowlers made sure that get back into the game. Kyle Jamieson dismissed Rohit Sharma after the latter added a 62-run stand alongside Shubman Gill. India ended Day 2 with 147/3.
Kyle Jamieson ripped through the defense of the Indian batting line-up as he went on to pick 5 wickets to his name. Team India was all out for 217. New Zealand responded quite strongly with the help of Tom Latham and Devon Conway. The duo added 70 runs for teh opening wicket and thankfully, Ravichandran Ashwin provided a breakthrough by dismissing Latham.

Devon Conway scored the first fifty in the ICC WTC Final but was dismissed by Ishant Sharma on 54. However, Kane Williamson played a phenomenal knock and was looking to take the game away from the Indians. He was already got set at the crease as he played too many balls. At the same time, he was frustrating the Indians by scoring runs at a brisk pace when it mattered the most. Kane was poised to get to his half-century.
