There is no hiding to the fact that the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is an ardent follower of Football and he is fans of Argentina and the legendary forward player Lionel Messi. He was glued to the TV when the South American giants were locking horns with the Nigerians in a do-or-die league game of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018.
Argentina was held to a draw by Iceland while were completely outplayed by Croatia in the previous two league games. They were on the verge of getting eliminated even before reaching the playoffs of the World Cup and needed their main talisman to fire in the last league match.
Messi wasn’t in the bests of the form as he disappointed his fans in the previous matches, latched on to a pinpoint pass and converted it into a mind-boggling goal marking his name on the scoresheet for the first time in this World Cup 2018.

The Nigerians managed to score a goal, bringing sweat on the faces of rivals. If the scoreline had stood at 1-1, it would have meant a direct exit from the tournament for Argentina but boy they managed to score another goal sending fans into raptures.
Sourav Ganguly was impressed with Lionel Messi’s grittiness and was in ecstatic mood when he opened the scoring for his team. Before the start of the much-awaited game, Sourav tweeted, “Start of the biggest game of Messi’s life ..let’s see whether the champion stands up”.
