Director of cricket for Delhi Capitals (DC), Sourav Ganguly opined that having rhythm will be crucial as a player like Shaw needs it and now he is ready to explode at the bigger stage.

During a chat with Times of India, Sourav Ganguly said, “I think Prithvi Shaw is ready to play for India. Whether he gets an opportunity will depend on the slots. I am sure Rohit Sharma and the selectors have a close eye on him. He is a good player and ready.”

Just days before the upcoming 2023 edition of the IPL, even the DC Head coach, Ricky Ponting, came in support of Prithvi Shaw to make a massive impact this season. Interestingly enough, Shaw was included in the Indian squad back in January, though, he remained benched throughout the series. Speaking of his T20I career so far, Shaw made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka in 2021, which was the last time, he played for India. He was supposed to be included in the squad for the three-match T20I series against New Zealand at home. But the team management picked opener, Shubman Gill, instead of him.
