One of India’s most successful captains, Sourav Ganguly, who is currently serving as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, has said that he had played in modern-day cricket, he would’ve T20 cricket quite enthusiastically. The veteran southpaw also asserted that he would’ve even considered maneuvering with his game in order to hit some big shots in the shortest format.
In a video posted by the BCCI, Ganguly can be seen having a chat with the Indian opener, Mayank Agarwal, in which he said, “No, T20 is very important, I would have changed my game, although I did play for the first five years of the IPL, the license to keep swinging and keep hitting, so I think I would have enjoyed T20 cricket.”

Ganguly has had a decent Indian Premier League (IPL) career as well as he played 59 games in which he amassed 1,349 runs at an average of 25.4. He was also the captains of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Sourav was sacked from the captaincy role in 2009, but he was appointed in 2010. The former India skipper also played for Pune Warriors India in the 2011 and 2012 editions of IPL.
However, Ganguly has often been termed as one of the captains the Indian team as ever witnessed. Under his captaincy, India managed to register a Test series win for the first time against Pakistan. He also guided India to World Cup final after a huge gap of 20 years in 2003.

In his illustrious career, Ganguly played 113 Test matches and as many as 311 ODIs. The swashbuckling southpaw amassed a humongous tally of 18,575 runs across all formats in his international career. In October 2019, Sourav was appointed as the president of the BCCI.
