In the 2023 edition of the tournament, the Indian Premier League will be returning back to the home and away format after having been restricted to a select few venues due to the Covid-19 pandemic over the last three years. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Sourav Ganguly confirmed the development in a letter addressed to state units of the board.
