Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to celebrate their country’s founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 100th anniversary with T20I matches between Asia XI vs World XI on March 18 and 21 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka and is leaving no stone unturned the best of talents from all around the world.
In an attempt to make the occasion magnanimous, the Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] had requested the services of top Indian cricketers for the occasion and the BCCI had also announced that it will be sending four of its players to participate in the Asia XI vs World XI fixtures.
But it is yet to be finalized by the BCCI who those players will be, contrary to the report that had surfaced in the media that it had decided to send the likes of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly clarified on Saturday.

Neglecting the rumors while talking to Sportstar, Ganguly said, “We are seeing the availability of the players and based on that we will finalize the names. The talk is still on. Both the matches will have international status.”
The BCCI chief further clarified that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC)- comprising of Madan Lal, RP Singh, and Shubhangi Kulkarni- will meet in the next few days to appoint the selectors for the senior and junior committees, followed by the appointment of the women’s selection panel.
Ganguly also made it clear that the two vacant positions in the senior selection panel will be filled before the Men in Blue lock horns with South Africa in a three-match One-day International series, starting March 12.

Coming back to the Asia XI vs World XI games, it will be interesting to see which of the Indian cricketers will be selected to travel to Dhaka to participate in the marquee affair considering the final ODI of the India-South Africa series coincides with the first T20I in Dhaka on March 18.
