Former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, who is currently serving as BCCI president was admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday as he suffered some chest pain. He is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be in stable condition. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee wished a speedy recovery for the BCCI President and also said in a tweet that he had suffered a ‘mild cardiac arrest’. The hospital is yet to make an official statement on the matter.
Accoridng to the recent reports that Ganguly felt dizzy while he was at the gym and was also feeling ‘uneasiness’. BCCI secretary and Ganguly’s close aid in the cricket board, Jay Shah, tweeted that Ganguly is responding well to treatment.

Tweeting about the same, Shah wrote, “I wish and pray for the speedy recovery of @SGanguly99. I’ve spoken to his family. Dada is stable and is responding well to the treatment”.

Speaking to news agency ANI, sources close to Sourav Ganguly said that the former Indian skipper complained of pain in the chest and might need angioplasty. The BCCI president had on Wednesday visited Eden Gardens where he discussed preparations for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya.

Other CAB office-bearers were also present at the stadium. Earlier this week, Ganguly had also cleared the air about him joining politics ahead of West Bengal Assembly polls next year. He had explained that he went to meet the state’s Governor upon invitation.

Ganguly had said, “If the Governor wants to meet you, you have to meet him. So let us keep it like that”. est Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday met Ganguly to discuss various issues and agreed to visit Eden Gardens on his invitation. Governor had tweeted, “Had interaction with ‘Dada’ Saurav Ganguly, BCCI President at Raj Bhawan yesterday at 4.30 PM on varied issues. Accepted his offer for a visit to Eden Gardens, the oldest cricket ground in the country established in 1864″.
