On Wednesday, South African start cricketer AB de Villiers has surprisingly announced his retirement from the international cricket. While the cricket is still in shock, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly paid him a beautiful tribute.

AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers is one of the greatest cricketers in this generation. The 34-year-old played total 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is for South Africa where he scored 8,765 runs, 9,577 runs and 1,672 runs respectively.

While AB always perfectly fits up with any cricketing role on the field, his batting fascinates the cricket world so much. Though he will be available for the domestic crickets, the cricket world will not see him anymore in the international cricket.

The cricket fans are still in shock on this sudden decision. The cricketing families are spreading the best wishes for him. In that time, the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly paid a great tribute to the entertaining world-class batsman during the IPL 2018 Eliminator game between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata).

Before the beginning of that game, Ganguly’s message was brightly seen on the giant screen and that was, “Well done AB DE VILLIERS for your contribution to world cricket. The game will remember you forever, you have been a CHAMPION player”

AB was in good form in the IPL 2018. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, AB scored total 480 runs in this season with 53.33 averages and 174.54 strike-rates. He played total six 50+ knocks in this IPL season out of which three were consecutive.
