Sourav Ganguly’s Biopic To Be Made By Karan Johar?

In recent times, Bollywood has taken a lot of interest in making a biopic of various sports personalities, especially the cricketers. Every director feels that cricket is one genre from where they can find a lot of intriguing content. Now, there are reports in the media that Karan Johar, the ace Bollywood director, and producer is planning to make a biopic on the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

Indian cinema is following a trend of making motivational movies, and they feel that sport is one of those areas from where they can get the best plot and stories for the same. In the past, several directors have made biopics of sports personalities like Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, MS Dhoni-The untold story, Paan Singh Tomar, and Azhar.

The directors have been successful in churning out some brilliant numbers in terms of the movies’ collection at the box office. Moreover, fans have showered immense love for those movies on the silver screen. However, according to the recent reports of Mumbai Mirror, Karan Johar and Sourav Ganguly recently met each other for a discussion over the movie project.

‘Dada’ looks is impressed and has given his consent over the same. Now, both of them are searching for a perfect actor who can convincingly play Sourav Ganguly’s role on the silver screen.

Recently, during a talk show, Dada was questioned that if a biopic is to be made on him, then which actor does he wants to play his role. The former Indian skipper opened, saying that he wants Hrithik Roshan to play his role as he likes him a lot.

At the moment, there are a couple of cricket-based movies that are in the making. Firstly, Ranveer Singh is playing a crucial role in ’83, the film which is being directed by Kabir Khan that depicts the story of how India won the first World Cup back in 1983. Shahid Kapoor starer movie, which is the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster movie Jersey, is also slated to release later this year. It is directed by the same director (Gowtham Tinnanuri), who rolled it out in the Telugu version.
