Recalling the infamous 2008 controversy when Harbhajan Singh had openly slapped S Sreesanth after an IPL game, the tainted India pacer has said that he carried no harsh feelings for the veteran Indian spinner post the scandal and had even begged in front of the BCCI to not take any action against Harbhajan.

Talking to CricketAddictor, Sreesanth opened up on the controversy and said, “It was all sorted and thanks to Sachin paaji (Sachin Tendulkar), you guys play in the same team, I said absolutely fine, I’ll go and meet him. We met and had dinner on the same night but the media took it to the next level.”

He further elaborated, “And even in front of Nanavati sir, they have the video clipping also if not, where I’m literally crying and begging and telling him not to ban or do anything with Bhajji paa, we are going to play together. I don’t want anything to be taken away from Bhajji paa because he is a match-winner, he has taken hat-tricks for India. I wanted to win matches with Bhajji paa because I consider him as my elder brother there is a video.”

Currently, Sreesanth is currently serving a life ban which has been reduced to seven years after several appeals. His ban will expire in September this year and he revealed that he has been working on his fitness and skill-based training.

Sreesanth’s chances of playing competitive cricket at the elite level seem to be quite possible as Kerala coach Tinu Yohanan said the India pacer will be considered for selection if he can prove his fitness.
