There haven’t been a lot of occasions on a cricket field when a batter had lost his wicket just one short of a well-deserved century but Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener, Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered the same fate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. In a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Ruturaj smashed 99 runs from 57 balls including six sixes and as many fours but was dismissed a run short of the 100-run mark.
