Srinath and Ravi Reinstated As ICC Elite Panel Of Officials

Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath was the only Indian to be featuring in ICC match referees’ list, while Sundaram Ravi continued to be India’s representative among the top umpires as the ICC on Thursday, as ICC announced an unchanged list of elite match officials in Dubai on Thursday.

“The retention of the panel has been made for the period of July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, was done following the annual review and selection process,” the ICC said in a statement.

The ICC Umpires Selection Panel consisted of Chairman and ICC General Manager — Cricket, Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle, former England player and commentator — David Lloyd, and former India captain and international umpire — Srinivas Venkataraghavan.

The umpires’ panel includes Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Ravi, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker. The panel of ICC Match Referees includes David Boon, Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andy Pycroft, Javagal Srinath and Richie Richardson, all former Test players.

Ravi was promoted to the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires in 2015 and became the second Indian umpire after Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan ever to be a member of the Elite panel. He was selected as one of the twenty umpires to stand in matches during the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

In April 2006, Srinath was selected as a match referee by the International Cricket Council and served during the 2007 World Cup. Since then, he has officiated as ICC match referee in 35 Test matches, 194 ODIs, and 60 T20Is.
