Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni cane termed as the reason behind the rise of Indian cricket in the last decade or so. As a captain, he has won all the ICC trophies including taking India to triumph at World Cup 2011, 2007 T20 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy and he has suddenly been set away from cricket after unsuccessful World Cup 2019.
Dhoni said to be one of the most successful skippers that Indian cricket has ever got. Speculations over his retirement are running every day in and out for him. He is yet to play any form of cricket since 2019 World Cup semi-final defeat against New Zealand.

Recently, in a tweet over former Indian skipper by Virat Kohli, stormed India with the rumors that Dhoni is nearly going to announce his retirement which suddenly became headlines. After that in a pre-match conference ahead of the first T20I against South Africa, Kohli said, “I think it was a lesson for me, that the way I think, the whole world does not think that way. There was nothing that it could be taken as retirement tribute to the former Indian captain.”
Now, N Srinivasan, the owner of the IPL franchise, Chennai Super King has given a verdict over his future in Indian cricket and the IPL. As per the quotes in Times Now, Srinivasan said, “I can say only one thing. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will only be the captain for the next IPL Chennai Super Kings next season.”
Dhoni has led CSK in all the seasons since the inaugural edition of the tournament and became the first captain to lead an IPL team to triumph on 3 occasions. After CSK’s return to the cash-rich league post the spot-fixing saga, they have been in phenomenal form.

While they won the 2018 season, for a record third time, they failed to win the 2019 final against Mumbai Indians (MI) by a run to lose the IPL 2019 title. Dhoni-led Chennai is the only team to feature in the most number of IPL finals with making their way on 8 occasions in the last 12 seasons.
