The mega-auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 concluded after a couple of days of nonstop bidding and thrilling action. While most of the players got the price tag they deserved, some were highly overpriced. While cricket analysts and commentators are analyzing the squads of every single franchise, Star Sports has picked Yuzvendra Chahal as the best pick of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Star Sports reportedly made a special index which was made after considering various factors and Yuzi Chahal topped the ranks according to that index. He has been one of the best leg-spinners around the world in the recent past. During his days at Royal Challengers Bangalore, he was arguably the best Indian spinner in the tournament.

Unfortunately, his form dropped significantly in the last season and his numbers started falling down. Still, it was shocking enough for RCB to not retain him despite having a blank spot in their retention list. It had a left a lot of fans confused. However, it was a costly alternative as RCB had to buy him for ₹10.75 Crores after a serious bidding war.
RCB did not even bid for Yuzvendra Chahal when he came in. As a result, Rajasthan Royals managed to buy the services of the leggies at a much cheaper and humble price tag of just ₹6.50 Crores. The Performance to price ratio, in this case, is immensely high and it was a bargain deal for Rajasthan Royals.

Yuzvendra Chahal is thus being said to be the best pick of IPL 2022. However, there could have been some good competition in this category. David Warner was sold for ₹6.25 Crores. He was also sold for a very low price compared to the value that he provides to his team.
