Making an immediate impact, Sam Konstas showcased his fearless batting in the first innings, audaciously scooping Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for sixes. The young prodigy scored an impressive 60 runs off just 65 balls, a knock filled with energy and flair. Reflecting on Konstas’ performance, veteran batter Steve Smith had high praise for the debutant, calling him “mad.”

“He’s mad. I think he really enjoyed himself under the lid there. He was chirping quite a bit. At one point, (Yashasvi) Jaiswal even tried hitting the ball at him to shut him up,” Steve Smith said, speaking to 7Cricket. “But he’s brought incredible energy to the team, a real confidence. It’s great to see him start so strongly in his first Test match. I think he’s got a very bright future,” he added.

“What an amazing Test match—one of the best I’ve been part of,” Pat Cummins remarked during the post-match presentation. “The crowd was incredible all week. Marnus (Labuschagne) really helped me out in the second innings, and Steve (Smith) played a phenomenal knock. Winning the toss and scoring in the high 400s on a tough first day set the tone for the game.”

The thrilling victory not only highlighted Australia’s dominance but also set the stage for an exciting series finale.
