India will be touring to Australia towards the end of 2020 and a lot of buzz around it has already been created. Former Australian skipper, Steve Waugh says the Test series between the “two best sides” will be remembered for a long time and hopes India will play a day-night game Down Under. Almost a year ago, India ended a 71-year wait for their maiden Test series win in Australia. However, Australia has become a different team now with Steve Smith and David Warner back in the side and Marnus Labuschangne piling runs in each passing game.
Ahead of teh three-match ODI series between the two giants, talking to PTI, Waugh said, “It is always a great series, Australia and India. It has become a tradition. I think it is going to be an outstanding series. Look there is no doubt it (David and Steve) will make our team stronger. But there is no doubt that India right now is the best all-round cricket side in the world, they will welcome that challenge. It will be a series that people will remember for a long time.”

During the course of the ODI series, India might final their call on the playing a day-night Test during the Australian summer. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, Team India had been reluctant to play with the pink ball in the previous series but having finally made their day-night debut at home in November. Waugh feels Kohli should take up that challenge.
Talking about the same, Waugh said, “It is a real challenge for teams to play day-night cricket in Australia. Someone like Virat Kohli will welcome and embrace it. If you are the best side in the world, you are expected to win against all opponents in all conditions.”
On the upcoming ODI series in India, Waugh feels the home team starts favorites despite Australia winning the five-match series in 2019. The legendary batsman also believes that it is a matter of time before India win an ICC event, something they have not done since the 2013 Champions Trophy triumph.
