Australia and Rising Pune Supergiant captain, Steven Smith, recently spied on Mahendra Singh Dhoni with his drone camera. 27-year old Smith posted a video on his Instagram account where he is seen engaged with his drone camera along with other Rising Pune Supergiant teammates.

In the video, Smith has captured Dhoni’s six over long-on while the former captain is batting in the nets at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Steve Smith captioned the video: “Me and my new hobby. Love flying my new drone. Even got @mahi7781smashing a big 6 at practice.”

At the start of this season of the Indian Premier League, there were reports of Dhoni and Smith not getting along well. Much of this was due to the management’s decision of promoting Smith as the leader ahead of Dhoni.

Smith has often reiterated that Dhoni and him get along well. “He’s been fine. We are getting along well. Everything is going well. Everything is good there,” he had said.

Smith had earlier defended Dhoni’s poor run in IPL 2017. “No, it doesn’t bother me. (It’s) only three games, (so) no problems there. He’s a class player. He’ll be fine,” Smith had said.

After eight wins in 12 matches, Rising Pune Supergiant is at the third position in the points table as of now. They would be looking to continue their good form and seal a spot in the play-offs.

Smith has also led the team in terms of batting. He has scored 367 runs in 11 matches at an average of 40.77 and a strike rate of 128.77 and is the highest run-scorer for the team in this season. With 18 wickets in 12 matches, Imran Tahir is their highest wicket-taker. His dismissals have come at an average of 20.50 and an economy rate of 7.85.
