During the first Test of Australia’s tour of South Africa in 2011 at Cape Town, Dale Steyn picked up four wickets to restrict Australia to 284-10 in 75 overs on the morning of Day 2. Having won the toss, Graeme Smith, the then South African captain, elected to field and made full use of the conditions.

Dale drew first blood in the fifth over with the wicket of Shane Watson (3). He followed it with trapping Ricky Ponting (8) in front of the stumps in the 17th over of the Australian innings.

Shaun Marsh (44), who came in to bat at No. 3, and was looking set to get a big one became Steyn’s next victim as he, too, was found wanting in front of the stumps. In the same spell, Steyn got rid off Brad Haddin (5), leaving Australia reeling at 6-163.
