As the Indian Cricket Team suffered another loss in an ICC event, the Indian fans on social media went mad at the captaincy of Virat Kohli. New Zealand registered a phenomenal 8-wicket win over India in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final to become the first winner of the tournament on Wednesday in Southampton.

The win was historic for the Kwis as they managed to become the first team in the world to win the ICC World Test Championship. For the Indian team, it was a rather forgetful event. After having topped the Test Championship points table for the most part of the tournament cycle, Team India succumbed to the Kiwi pressure and failed to pull off a draw on the reserve day to lose yet another ICC trophy.

In a match marred with rain for almost 3 days, Team India failed to capitalize on the chances and let go of the match. The Indian batters can be blamed completely for failing to score on the reserve day and carry the Indian innings forward. Eventually, the Kiwis were left with a target of 139 runs on the final day and the Kiwis chased it down comfortably in the end. Kane Williamson led the chase from the front as he smashed a scintillating fifty along with a crucial partnership with Ross Taylor towards the end.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli also made some wrong calls that led to the demolition of team India as he could not prove himself to be spot on with his bowling changes and field placements. Moreover, Virat has so far failed to win any ICC trophy ever since he has been appointed as the Indian limited-overs captain in 2017 before he was leading the Test team in 2014.

Another failure in an ICC event left the fans baffled with Virat Kohli’s captaincy and the Indian fans lashed out at him on Twitter and demanded a change in the captaincy. The biggest name coined by the Indian fans was that of Rohit Sharma. Rohit has been the most successful skipper in the history of IPL.
