Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Team India has been churning out some brilliant by winning Test matches consistently and it doesn’t matter whether the series at home and beyond. Not just their consistency but the demeanor they exhibit on the field shows that Kohli and men are a tight bunch and it’s similar to the teams with which Sir Clive Lloyd and Sir Vivian Richards played in the 1970s, says legendary Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar.

Sunil Gavaskar is of the opinion that Team India is consistently doing well against the best in the world. As head coach Ravi Shastri said that Kohli’s demeanor had rubbed off on the team that won 2-1 in Australia, under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane.

Talking about the same during a chat on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “It certainly is, look at the way they are consistently, regularly, winning matches and therefore. You know with Steve Waugh’s team in the 90s. Then you look at the West Indies team’s dominance under Clive Lloyd and Viv Richards and Brian Lara sort of for a few years. So when you have a team which is as good as West Indies and Australia in its history perhaps. This team has won everywhere.”

Gavaskar believes that it was a great achievement to win a series against an Australian team with Steve Smith, David Warner, and Marnus Labuschagne.

Sunil Gavaskar further added, “In Australia, this time around, Steve Smith, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne all were there. I think it’s raised the bar considerably. So clearly, yes. This Indian team, when you look at the history of Indian cricket, this Indian team would be the best of them all.”
