Sunil Gavaskar sparks controversy with poor remark for Scott Boland

Veteran opener Sunil Gavaskar made headlines with a controversial comment during the fifth day of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and India in Melbourne. During the first session of Day 5, Gavaskar commented for the Australian pacer Scott Boland. The incident took place during the eighth over of India’s second innings when Scott Boland bowled his first over of the day as well.

After the first ball, Sunil Gavaskar was heard saying, “Boland bowling karenge… Bo*u** bowling karenge.” However, Gavaskar’s choice of words for the Australian quick during the commentary shocked everyone what they heard on live TV. Even the commentators were laughing after Sunil Gavaskar’s shocking comments on commentary as well.

However, Sunil Gavaskar created controversy recently for his negative and controversial remarks as well. He doesn’t stop himself from speaking his heart out as well. Meanwhile, Scott Boland shone for Australia in the first innings with figures of 3-57. In the same Test, Sunil Gavaskar came in the news for slamming Rishabh Pant for his poor shot selection in India’s first innings as well. Pant was out trying to play an unorthodox ramp shot to Scott Boland but got out to Nathan Lyon in the deep.

In the commentary panel, Gavaskar said “stupid” multiple times and slammed him for not playing according to the situation and instead letting his team down. He even stated that Pant should not be going into the Indian dressing room as well.
