During the event, both legends shared their cherished memories associated with the venue.

Sunil Gavaskar spoke fondly about how Wankhede feels like his second home, a place where he has enjoyed many significant moments throughout his illustrious career. In a fun and unexpected twist, Sunil Gavaskar, known for his disciplined approach to the game, revealed a different side of himself. When all the legends were invited to the stage to join in the celebrations, Gavaskar, at 75 years old, didn’t hold back. He joined the dance floor, grooving to Shah Rukh Khan’s hit song ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ from Om Shanti Om, and even sang along with full enthusiasm. His infectious energy left the audience in awe, with the ‘Little Master’ showing that age is no barrier to enjoying life’s special moments.

Sachin Tendulkar, not one to be left behind, also joined in on the celebration, singing the chorus alongside Gavaskar. The two legends, known for their grace and discipline on the field, displayed a fun and lively side that delighted everyone present.

The event also had its lighter moments. Rohit Sharma, present at the celebration, playfully called Shreyas Iyer to the stage to dance with the other cricket stars. The ‘Hitman’ added a playful touch by doing a wavy dance gesture, leaving Iyer both shy and in fits of laughter. Former India coach Ravi Shastri, standing next to Rohit, enjoyed the light-hearted exchange between the two World Cup finalists.

Looking ahead, both Rohit and Iyer will be key members of the Indian squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which kicks off on February 20 in Dubai against Bangladesh. Before heading to the UAE, India will play a series of five T20Is and three ODIs against England to fine-tune their preparations for the prestigious tournament.
