The buzz is growing as the Indian Premier League (IPL) is getting ready to return with yet another scintillating season, starting from March 22. Out of the 10 franchises competing with each other, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a side that stole the show in the last season with their flamboyant performance and edge-of-the-seat race to the final.

Led by World Cup-winning Australian captain Pat Cummins, SRH has maintained its existing strength while adding some new names to strengthen the unit in their quest for another title. Before the much-awaited season, the team recently launched its new jersey on social media, generating huge excitement among fans.
Though the look is pretty much the same as it was last year, retaining that classic orange and black color scheme, the new look was enough to make heads turn. The new jersey-clad players looked confident and stylish in a cool Instagram clip. The clip had some of SRH’s brightest young stars, such as Team India’s firecracker wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, up-and-coming opener Abhishek Sharma, crafty leggie Rahul Chahar, and domestic sensation Abhinav Manohar.

To the tune of Kendrick Lamar’s popular song ‘DNA,’ the reel showcased the team’s energy and swagger as they held up the bat and ball. In another innovative reel, Sharma was shown drawing the jersey on a canvas before the players made a fashionistic entrance, adding an artistic touch to the launch.

SRH’s ride in the IPL has been a rollercoaster. The franchise entered in 2013 replacing the Deccan Chargers and made an instant impression by reaching the playoffs in their first year. But erratic performances came in the following two years before they won their first and so far only IPL title in 2016.

After their championship win, the Sunrisers continued to be a force to be reckoned with, making it to the playoffs for four consecutive years. However, after 2020, the team went through a downturn, having to suffer poor seasons between 2021 and 2023. Last year, though, saw them get back on track as they made it to their third IPL final. With their confidence boosted and a balanced team, SRH will be looking to take that extra step in IPL 2025 and take back the title.
