On Wednesday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni unveiled their new jersey on Wednesday ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and the players just can’t wait to wear it on the field. Dhoni’s deputy, CSK vice-captain Suresh Raina reached Mumbai and immediately shared his excitement of wearing the new kit.
CSK has made an interesting change in their new jersey as they added a new camouflage design on the shoulders. The camouflage design is a tribute to the Indian armed forces. The jersey also features the logo of CSK’s new shirt sponsor, Myntra. The shirt also has 3 stars above their logo, which depicts them winning 3 titles they have won so far in the IPL. The trademark roaring lion logo finds it place at the left corner of the shirt.
Raina, who skipper the IPL last season due to personal reasons, hailed the team’s gesture to honor the armed forces and said that he can’t wait to play in the new jersey. Tweeting about the same, Raina said, “What a lovely gesture by @ChennaiIPL and @msdhoni to honour the invaluable services of our army officials. So looking forward to wear this jersey & play with all my heart.”

CSK players have arrived in batches in Mumbai to begin their quarantine before they start their training for the IPL 2021. The squad has already had a training camp in Chennai which was also attended by Dhoni. CSK will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on April 10.
The three-time champions will be looking for a turnaround this year after enduring their worst IPL season in 2020 wherein they failed to reach the playoffs for the first time in the history of the tournament after finishing 7th in the league stage.
