S Sreesanth, the tainted Indian pacer, will be marking his comeback in competitive cricket in the upcoming edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, scheduled to start on January 10. He hasn’t played any form of cricket since the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the very tournament in which he was accused of spot-fixing, and his career went downhill after that.

At one point in time, it seemed that Sreesanth will never get to play competitive cricket. However, at the age of 37, his fortunes have finally turned around. To start with, he was picked among the Kerala probables for the T20 tournament. But their head coach Tinu Yohanan, also a former Indian fast bowler reckons that Sreesanth’s selection will depend on his levels of fitness.

In the end, Sreesanth made a comeback to the squad and his joy knew no bounds. He uploaded a video where he can be seen, getting the Kerala cap for the upcoming domestic tournament, and captioned it as, “There is nothing stronger than a broken man, who has rebuilt himself… Thanks a lot for all the Support and love ..#Gods grace #humbled #cricket #keralacricketassociation #bcci #grateful #respect #love #bestisyettocome,”

In the meantime, Suresh Raina, the former Indian cricketer, was excited to see the Indian pacer to make his comeback. The southpaw, who retired from international cricket back in August, is looking forward to seeing Sreesanth bowl some magical spells. He replied on the Instagram post and wrote, “Good luck brother man. Can’t wait to see magic spells again.”
