Former India cricketer Suresh Raina has come in support of the Indian team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma after its exit from the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals and also suggested that the team deserves a break and family time following the heartbreaking loss. India suffered an unforgettable loss by 10 wickets against England at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.

Suresh Raina heaped praise on Team India for giving their all and added that he is hopeful the team will bounce back soon. He tweeted, “Heart-breaking loss for the team but proud of the boys, and the Bharat Army, for giving it their all! I’m positive we’ll bounce back soon, but first, a well-deserved break or vacation and time with the family”.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s fighting half-centuries lifted India to 168/8 after being put into bat. India lost opener KL Rahul early on and the other opener, Rohit Sharma, failed to score runs at a brisk pace in the powerplay overs. India managed to reach 38/1 after six overs. Rohit and Virat Kohli tried to rebuild the innings but failed to take India out of troubled waters.

India took 15 overs to put 100 runs on board before Pandya’s late hitting gave the bowlers something to defend. In reply, India bowlers were outplayed by England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. The duo took England to 63 runs for no loss at the end of the powerplay overs. Buttler and Hales convincingly ensured England’s T20 World Cup final against Pakistan with four overs to spare.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir, too, boosted the morale of the Indian team. He took to Twitter, saying: “You only expect from those who can deliver! Chin up boys.”

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh said: “Yes we want our team to win each time they step on the field but we’ve got to realise there will be days that don’t go your way! Proud to see the boys perform as a unit thruout the tournament. Time to reflect on how we can improve & comeback stronger.”
