Suresh Raina has been a pillar of strength in the fielding department for any side that he has played over the years. Be it the ground fielding or the catching, Raina is usually found at the busiest places on the ground. One of his catch at first slip is already in contention for the VIVO Perfect Catch of the Season.
After setting a target of 196 to Delhi Daredevils in last night’s match, Gujarat Lions made early inroads in the second innings. Pradeep Sangwan got rid of Sanju Samson in his first over itself. In the same over, Raina’s brilliance caught Rishabh Pant short of his crease at the batting end.
In what was not a conventional run-out but more of Raina’s sharp-wit, it allowed Lions to reduce Delhi to 15-2 in 1.5 overs. The fact that the departing batsman was Pant, was more satisfying for both Raina and his team.
