Suresh Raina might be putting in the extra miles in domestic cricket in a bid to impress the national selectors for a spot in the Indian team, there was a time when he was one of the top names to feature on the team sheet in the limited-overs format.

In 2010, he became the first Indian batsman to score a T20I century. He did so against South Africa during the ICC World Twenty20 2009 at Gros Islet, St Lucia. Later, he went on to become the first Indian batsman to score a century in all three formats of the game.

It was the fifth match of the World Twenty20 in 2010 when Graeme Smith, the then South African T20I captain, put India in to bat. Raina, who came in to bat after the dismissal of Murali Vijay (0) in the first over, had made his intentions from the word go. He ended up scoring 101 (60) with the help of nine fours and five sixes.
