Rajasthan Royals succumbed to a close loss yesterday against Sunrisers Hyderabad as they failed to chase down 151 runs. The team was playing at their home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, the venue which is also known to be associated with the Rajasthan team as their fortress. Of course, there was a lot of crowd to support their state team but one man, in particular, grabbed the headlines.

The man in attendance to support Rajasthan Royals was none other than Ram Singh Chauhan, the man who holds the record for the longest moustache. His moustache measured 4.29 m (14 ft) at the time of setting up a world record in 2010. The 58-year-old is famous in the western part of India and his presence at the stadium to support the home team must have cheered up the fans.

Ram Singh was shining in his royal attire. JK Lakshmi Cement, who is one of the sponsors of Rajasthan Royals, posted the picture of him in the stands. The post read, “Look who is in the stadium supporting @rajasthanroyals. Ram Singh Chauhan, the man who holds the record for the longest moustache! Mooche ho_toh_Ram Singh Chauhan_jaisi_warna_na_ho!”

Rajasthan team is returning to the action after the suspension of two years. The ban was levied upon the franchise over the charges of corruption and fraud. They missed out playing in the IPL for the season 2016 and 2017. Their home venue Jaipur was also disallowed to host the matches since 2013. Hence the fans have been starving to see their heroes taking the field.

This IPL so far has been topsy-turvy for the men in blue. Rajasthan in the absence of Steven Smith is being led by Ajinkya Rahane and the team is yet to hit its purple patch. Their victories over Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were stunning but their losses were stinging too. They currently have three wins from their seven matches and are fifth on the table.
