Mumbai Indians (MI) have managed to reach the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table with a thrashing 57-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2oth match of the season. For MI, Surya Kumar Yadav played a flamboyant knock of 47-ball 79* combined with the decimation of Jasprit Bumrah as he took 4 wickets while conceding just 20 runs.
Earlier in the game, MI skipper, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first after winning the toss as he made no change in their squad. On the other hand, RR made three changes in their squad as debutant Kartik Tyagi, Yashavi Jaiswal, and Ankit Rajpoot replaced, Royan Parag, Jaydev Unadkat, and Robin Uthappa.

MI openers, Rohit, and Quinton de Kock started off well as they added 49 runs inside the first five over before Tyagi getting the better of the latter in his first over itself. Then, along with Surya Kumar Yadav, Rohit added 39 runs for the second wicket before Shreyas Gopal getting two wickets in as many deliveries in the 10th overs as he dismissed Rohit and Ishan Kishan on back-to-back deliveries.
After the little hiccup, Yadav tried to make a partnership with Krunal Pandya, but the latter also got out in the 14th over. After Krunal’s dismissal, Hardik came out to bat, and along with Surya Kumar, he built a solid partnership of 76 runs for the 4th wicket to help his team to reach the score of 193/4 in their tally of 20 overs. For RR, Gopal took two wickets and conceded just 28 runs.
During the chase, RR never looked in his game as they lost as many as three wickets of Jaiswal, Steve Smith, and Sanju Samson in the powerplay itself courtesy of the brilliant bowling spells from Bumrah and Trent Boult. However, Jos Buttler kept the hopes for the Royals as one one end wicket kept on felling and he milked runs from the other end.
