The flamboyant Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been in the form of his life. He has been batting on a different level altogether in the last couple of months. Suryakumar was in full flow during Mumbai’s ongoing IPL 2021 game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He scored a swashbuckling half-century to give his side a blistering start.

However, it was six he smashed off Pat Cummins which grabbed a lot of limelight. Cummins delivered a length ball aiming towards the sticks from Australian quick Pat Cummins at an express pace. Suryakumar Yadav, who was looking in sublime touch, picked the bones out of it and flicks it over deep square.

The ball flew out of his bat for a 99 meter six leaving all-rounder Hardik Pandya stunned at the dugout. With this big shot, Suryakumar also brought his half-century, which was his first in IPL 2021.

Here is the video of the humongous six:

Yadav’s six landed on the roof and it left Hardik Pandya surprised. The incident took place in the 10th over as the 30-year old picked the bones out of the ball even as he merely flicked the ball towards deep square leg. He completed his fifty off 33 deliveries to give his side the upper hand.

Unfortunately, Shakib Al Hasan managed to dismiss Suryakumar for 56 from 36 deliveries in the last over as the right-handed batsman mistimed one as he danced down the track to hit it over the bowler’s head. Shubman Gill took the catch, running from long-on to give the KKR a crucial wicket.

Earlier in the game, the KKR skipper, Eoin Morgan won the toss and asked MI to bat first and the leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy got rid of opener Quinton De Kock in the second over for 2. But Yadav and Rohit Sharma added 76 off 53 balls before the former departed.
