A viral video from Mumbai airport showed the India batter distributing sweets to reporters before leaving for Raipur. In a cheerful interaction, Suryakumar was heard telling the media, “Yeh lo, aap log khaana yeh,” while handing over sweet boxes, a gesture that quickly won hearts on social media.

The Mumbai Indians star stayed back in Mumbai while the squad travelled to Raipur for the must-win encounter against RCB, sparking speculation about his availability. However, the franchise later confirmed that Suryakumar would join the team on match day.

Mumbai Indians are also keeping a close eye on skipper Hardik Pandya, who missed the previous match against Lucknow Super Giants due to back spasms.

“Hardik continues to be evaluated by the medical team and they will update us on his progress. Surya is coming in tomorrow,” an MI spokesperson said.

Suryakumar has endured a difficult IPL 2026 season so far, scoring 195 runs from 10 matches. However, the explosive batter has shown glimpses of returning to his best form at a crucial stage of the tournament.
