The Indians cricket team completed a comprehensive 4-1 win over England in the T20I series, illustrating brilliance not only with the bat and ball but also in the field. Of course, performances that were outstanding with the bat and ball tend to attract considerable attention, and the crucial role of crisp fielding shouldn’t be downplayed.

The batsmen played a huge part in saving runs, bringing about important dismissals, and putting more pressure on England’s batting to ensure they never regained complete control. As is the tradition in the Indian dressing room, the best fielder of the series was rewarded—a tradition that has become an integral part of the team’s culture under fielding coach T. Dilip.

During the ceremony, where Dilip himself took over, not only was the most consistent performer across the five games rewarded but also efforts were recognized for those who had shown marked improvement, such as the case with spinner Varun Chakravarthy.

At the time of giving out the “Impact Fielder of the Series” award, T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was the one who presented the medal. In a funny moment, Suryakumar took a fun lap around the dressing room and teased Chakravarthy for a brief moment before finally revealing the winner-young wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel.

The young lad seemed to be shocked by the praise and was left speechless as his teammates clapped for him. Team India will now move on to play the three-match ODI series against England, following the end of the T20I series.
