However, as far as Suryakumar Yadav is concerned, there seems to be a bit more clarity about his moves for the next season of the IPL. Of all the rumours, a source within Mumbai Indians gave clarity on his retention, “No, he won’t leave. Therefore, this quote implies that chatter about Suryakumar’s departure may, in fact, be just baseless speculation. One of the more persistent rumours has been that KKR, where he played from 2014 to 2017, is keen on having him back as their skipper.

An official confirmation on that is still awaited, but if that rumour too turns out to be false, then MI fans can feel a little assured. Suryakumar Yadav, touted as Mr. 360° for his unorthodox batting, is still a very important player for MI. The rest of his season in 2023 went quite well, having done 605 runs with a string of an unbeaten 103* at the striking rate of 181.14.
