India claimed their second victory in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia, showcasing a remarkable batting performance at Thiruvananthapuram. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, and Rinku Singh emerged as the standout batters, propelling India to a commanding total against the Aussies.
In the post-match presentation, the skipper Suryakumar Yadav addressed his new role as captain in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who sustained an injury during the recent ODI World Cup. “The boys are not putting too much pressure on me,” Suryakumar stated, expressing his gratitude for the younger generation’s willingness to take responsibility against a formidable opposition like Australia.
Suryakumar revealed their pre-match strategy, explaining that they had planned to bat first upon assessing the conditions in Thiruvananthapuram. “I told them before to be prepared to bat first. There was a lot of dew,” he added.
