India claimed their second victory in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia, showcasing a remarkable batting performance at Thiruvananthapuram. In the post-match presentation, the skipper Suryakumar Yadav addressed his new role as captain in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who sustained an injury during the recent ODI World Cup. “The boys are not putting too much pressure on me,” Suryakumar stated, expressing his gratitude for the younger generation’s willingness to take responsibility against a formidable opposition like Australia.

Suryakumar revealed their pre-match strategy, explaining that they had planned to bat first upon assessing the conditions in Thiruvananthapuram. “I told them before to be prepared to bat first. There was a lot of dew,” he added.

When asked about the player Rinku Singh’s performance resembled, Suryakumar chuckled and responded, “Everyone knows the answer.”

Rinku Singh’s exceptional power-hitting abilities have paved the way into the Indian T20I side. Notably, he has been shouldering the finisher’s role for KKR, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s victory against the Gujarat Titans, scoring 31 off the final over.
