Mumbai Indians’ star batsman Suryakumar Yadav has revealed some dressing secrets before the IPL 2021 which will begin on Friday with Mumbai Indians facing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Chepauk in Chennai. Suryakumar, who had a dream debut for India recently, said that players of their team were completely different off the field.
However, he shared the name of the players like Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard, citing that their other side can be ‘shocking’ for others. In an exclusive interview with Sports Today, the 30-year-old middle-order batsman also opened up about the importance of limited celebration after winning a game.
“Off the field our dressing room is completely opposite. The way you will see us on the field it’s completely different off the field in the dressing room. In the dressing room there are a lot of guys who make the dressing room atmosphere really funny. There is Hardik Pandya, there is Ishan Kishan, there is Kieron Pollard. If you see the other side of them you will get shocked. So there are a lot of characters in the dressing room. That’s why I said that the result on the field doesn’t matter,” Suryakumar Yadav told Sports Today.

“If we win the atmosphere is nice but if we lose we try to keep the same atmosphere, so that we know what we have to do in the next game. After winning if you celebrate too much then you become a little complacent when you go in the next game. If you stay the same irrespective of the result, you can bring you A game every time you play,” he further added.
Five-times IPL champions Mumbai Indians will try to win their third successive IPL title this season in India. The players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard and others have been in prolific form in the last few months and they will try to maintain their form as well. However, they will play their first five matches in Chennai before shifting to Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru for the league stage matches as well.
