Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav recently opened up about the unwavering support he receives from his wife, Devisha Shetty, as he reflected on their journey and his rise through the ranks of Indian cricket. Talking about how their conversations helped reshape his career, Suryakumar recalled the moment Devisha pushed him to think bigger. “When we started dating, she said, ‘You’re playing good domestic cricket, but what’s your goal?’ I told her, ‘I want to play for India.’ She asked, ‘How will you achieve that with your current habits?’ That hit me hard,” he admitted.

Motivated by her honesty, SKY began fixing his routines, cutting back on late nights, and structuring his days more professionally. “She told me, ‘Work hard Monday to Friday and take weekends off.’ That plan changed everything,” he added.

He also fondly recalled the day they met at Podar College. Yadav had gone to meet a friend when he first saw Devisha. “My friend waved at her, and I asked him to introduce us. She wasn’t impressed at all,” he laughed. But as time passed, they began talking, found common ground, and gradually formed a bond that would reshape his life on and off the field.
