Swastik Chikara, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s lively young batter, continues to make headlines—not for his exploits on the field just yet, but for his cheeky camaraderie off it. After recently admitting to sneaking a spray of Virat Kohli’s perfume without permission, Chikara was at it again during the team’s celebration of his 20th birthday.

In a video shared by the franchise, the 19-year-old was seen playfully requesting “2-3 watches” from Kohli’s enviable collection, all while laughing and enjoying the moment with his teammates. During the birthday festivities, Chikara, in his usual high-spirited avatar, cut the cake and fed Kohli a piece.

Virat Kohli, clearly amused, jokingly said, “At least leave my finger,” as Chikara held on a little too long. The young batter didn’t stop there—he also smeared some cake around and shared slices with batting coach Dinesh Karthik and head coach Andy Flower, spreading laughter all around.

Despite a recent loss to the Gujarat Titans, the mood in the RCB camp appeared light-hearted, with Chikara’s energy helping keep spirits high. While he hasn’t debuted for Bengaluru in the IPL yet, the Ghaziabad-born youngster is no stranger to making an impression. He burst into the limelight in September with a blistering 85 off 27 balls in the UP T20 League—the fastest fifty of the tournament.

Swastik has already made his presence felt in domestic cricket. He scored a century on his List A debut against Himachal Pradesh in November 2023 and showed promise with a gritty 41 in his Ranji Trophy debut against Bengal. Though his Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 debut didn’t go as hoped, his raw talent and fearless attitude are hard to miss—both on and off the pitch.
