Put to bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a shaky start as they lost Pathum Nissanka early on. However, handy cameos from Kusal Perera, Chartih Asalanka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa helped Sri Lanka to post 154/6 in 20 overs.

In response, Aaron Finch and David Warner put a solid opening partnership. Warner was looking good in the middle and had stuck a few boundaries. He got a lucky reprieve when Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Kusal Perera dropped one of the easiest catches during the powerplay.

Dushmantha Chameera was bowling the 5th over of the innings. He bowled a leg-sided ball which Warner edged to the wicketkeeper. Chameera went up in celebration while the umpire had raised his finger but Kusal Perera had dropped one of the easiest of catches to give a life-life to out-of-form David Warner.
