India and Pakistan are facing each other in a mouth-watering clash in the T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai. Both teams will try to kick off their campaign with a win.

Shaheen Afridi

Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistan left out Haider Ali from the 12 they announced on the eve of the match. On the other hand, India left Ishan Kishan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur and Rahul Chahar out for this game.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul walked out to open the proceedings in Dubai. Shaheen Afridi had the bowl in his hand. He didn’t take long to separate the fearsome batting duo when he trapped Rohit Sharma in front of the wicket on the fourth ball of the over. It was dead plumb and Rohit didn’t even bother to take DRS.

Shaheen Afridi returned to bowl the second over and dismissed KL Rahul with a peach of a delivery. Rahul edged the ball onto his stumps and got out cheaply. Afridi provided Pakistan with a perfect start.

Virat Kohli stabilized things along with Rishabh Pant as the duo scored 53 runs for the fourth wicket. Pant got out after scoring 39 runs while Kohli was removed by Haris Rauf after his fifty.

Hardik Pandya had the finishing job to do. He smashed Shaheen Afridi for a four on the last ball of the 19th over, which eventually was called a no-ball. On the free hit, Hardik missed to connect the ball and ran for an overthrow. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan threw the ball towards Afridi to run out Pandya. Afridi went for a full-blooded hit at the stumps but he missed the target and the ball ran away for four more runs.
