By registering this big victory, India have taken the right step towards finishing in the top two in group 2. However, they still need Afghanistan to beat New Zealand what would be the last match of both teams.

After the conclusion of India’s match against Scotland, a journalist asked Ravindra Jadeja about India’s qualification scenario. He said Afghanistan still need to beat New Zealand for India to advance to the semi-finals, but if they fail what would the team do?

Giving a hilarious response to this, Jadeja replied, “we will pack bags and go home.”

On the match’s front, Jadeja enjoyed an outstanding outing and registered his career-best figures in a T20I match. He broke Scotland’s backbone with a two-wicket over. He later returned to dismiss dangerous-looking Michael Leask. Jadeja’s spell of 3/15 in four overs earned him the man of the match.

Mohammed Shami took three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah managed two as India skittled Scotland for 85 runs. India needed to chase the target in 7.1 overs to leapfrog both Afghanistan and New Zealand on net run-rate.

In response, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma came out with all guns blazing. Both openers scored 70 runs in the first five overs before Rohit got out for 30. KL Rahul kept going and scored an 18-ball fifty before getting out. Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli completed the formalities in 6.3 overs while having eight wickets in hand.

India will play Namibia in their last league match, to be played on November 8 in Dubai.
