Security measures are being closely monitored and evaluated to mitigate any identified risks, with continuous communication maintained with relevant authorities. The seriousness of the situation is underscored by the attribution of the threat to IS Khorasan. Trinidad Prime Minister Keith Rowley has affirmed that security services are equipped to handle any threats to matches.

Regional security officials in Barbados are also actively monitoring potential threats to the ICC event. In the midst of these security concerns, the T20 World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 1, culminating in the final on June 29.

While the West Indies will host matches across various venues, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, USA cities like Florida, New York, and Texas are also set to play host. Despite the threat, the highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled for June 9 in New York, remains on the cards.
