Star Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal is set to miss remainder of the South Africa tour following an injured thigh. He picked an injury during the practice game before Test series and played the first Test in pain.

He will be travelling back to Bangladesh on October 22, revealed by him. “If I get injured again [in the same spot], then I will be out for two months which I hope the team management doesn’t want and neither do I,” he said to ESPN Cricinfo.

Tamim will not play the final ODI and the T20 International series. He is their star batsman in the limited-over cricket and the leading ODI run-scorer as well.

Now he will rest and rehabilitate ahead of Bangladesh Premier League, which will commence in November and Tamim will miss the first two weeks of the league.

Selectors have roped in Mominul Haque as the replacement of the 28-year-old for the last game.
