In an interview, Veteran Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal has named Indian Spinner Ravi Ashwin amongst the three toughest bowlers he has played. The Indian off-spinner has got the better of the 31-year-old Tamim Iqubal on 4 different occasions. Ashwin has scalped Iqbal’s wicket twice in Test Cricket followed by once in both the limited-overs format of the game. Since making his debut, Ravi Ashwin has established himself a vital cog in India’s test team. However, the veteran spinner doesn’t feature in the white-ball format for the national team.
The first name on Tamim’s list is of former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal. The Chittagong-born batsman has named the Pakistan bowler very difficult to read. Iqbal says Ajmal’s deliveries were extremely tough to pick when the spinner was in his prime. Surprisingly, the Pakistani spinner has never dismissed the left-hander in International cricket.

Tamim also went for Former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel is the other name apart from Ajmal and Ashwin. Morkel has dismissed Tamam thrice in Test cricket. Tamim says that Morkel used to generate significant bounce due to his height which was difficult to navigate.
Speaking to Daily Star, Tamim said, “First I would talk about Saeed Ajmal. When he was at his prime, I couldn’t read his deliveries. I had plenty of trouble while playing him. South Africa’s Morne Morkel was tough to face. Another one is Ravichandran Ashwin, who is one of the current players. Even he is difficult to read. I would like to take the names of these three cricketers as they are quality bowlers.”

Tamim is the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh amassing 13,308 runs in 341 matches. Averaging, 35.11, Tamim has registered 23 centuries and 81 half-centuries in international cricket. Back in 2019, Tamim took a break from cricket citing some personal issues. Returning back to action, The 31-year-old will have to wait as all cricketing activities have been canceled because of coronavirus pandemic.
