Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed hit back at fellow commentator Harbhajan Singh after a heated exchange over comments made during the ILT20 coverage — and the spat has only intensified on social media ahead of the high-voltage ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash between India and Pakistan.

The row began after Harbhajan questioned Tanvir’s conduct for interviewing Usman Tariq on the ILT20 broadcast. Harbhajan’s sharp on-air jibe — which included calling Tanvir a “tuccha insaan” — prompted an immediate, hot-headed response.

Tanvir Ahmed’s reply was blunt and unapologetic. In a new video, he accused Harbhajan of double standards for saying he would “ignore” Tariq while still sharing commentary panels with Pakistani players.

His key line was stark: “You say you are doing commentary, but then you ask the broadcasters that you will ignore Usman Tariq. Tu dogla aadmi hai (You’re a two-faced person). You tell Indian players not to shake hands with Pakistani players, yet you sit in commentary with Pakistani players.”

He continued, arguing that if Harbhajan truly believed in boycotting interactions, he shouldn’t accept shared broadcast duties — otherwise he should expect critique. Tanvir also turned the manners charge back on Harbhajan, saying: “You are accusing me of having no manners, but first look at yourself.”

The spat has split opinion online. Some fans defend Tanvir’s right to call out perceived hypocrisy; others side with Harbhajan’s emotional, patriotic posture. What’s clear is that tensions between the subcontinent’s cricketing circles are spilling over into commentary boxes and TV panels — and the timing could not be more combustible, with the India–Pakistan game looming large.

Whether this controversy adds spice to the rivalry or distracts from the on-field narrative is for broadcasters and boards to manage. For now, the verbal joust keeps cricket fans talking — and waiting to see if personalities calm down once the players take the field.
