Team India is currently placed at the 5th position in ICC T20I ranking and they will be locking horns with the top-ranked New top-ranked in a 3-match series starting Nov 1. India has 116 points under their belt and if they manage to whitewash the Kiwis they will reach the second spot with 122 points.
However, it will be a win-win situation for the second spot Pakistan, because New Zealand’s series defeat against India will take them to the first spot in the ICC T20I team rankings. Pakistan beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in recently in the T20Is and is just one point behind New Zealand’s 125 points.

Indian skipper and no.1 ranked ODI batsman Virat Kohli will also lead India in the T20I series as the no.1 ranked batsmen in T20Is.
For New Zealand, their captain Kane Williamson will lead his side into the series as the no.4 ranked T20I batsman.
