Team India Had A Wild Celebration Of Virat Kohli’s 33rd Birthday

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli turned 33 on 5th November 2021. And, after India’s dominating victory over Scotland, the Indian players and support staff celebrated Kohli’s birthday in the dressing room. In a video released by the official handle of the Indian cricket team on Instagram, Team India’s mentor, MS Dhoni is seen lighting the candle on the cake for Kohli. Virat Kohli is then seen cutting the cake and blowing the candle.

Virat Kohli then feeds the cake to MS Dhoni, Shardul Thakur, and Suryakumar Yadav. The caption of the video read: “Cake, laughs and a win. Team Indian bring captain Virat Kohli’s birthday after their superb victory in Dubai.”

 

The Indian side dished out an absolute mauling to Scotland in the Super 12 encounter between the two teams in Dubai. Batting first, Scotland eventually got bundled out for a meager score of 85, with George Munsey scoring 24 off 19 deliveries.

In reply, the Indian batsmen came out all guns blazing against the Scottish bowling attack to shreds and won the match with 8 wickets and 13.3 overs remaining. KL Rahul led India’s demolition job with the willow and scored 50 off just 19 deliveries. Apart from Rahul, Rohit Sharma also scored a whirlwind 16-ball 30 as well.

Talking about Virat Kohli, the right-handed batting icon is the highest run-scorer in T20I cricket and has amassed 3227 runs in his career at an average of 52.04 and a strike rate of 137.90. Kohli has also scored 29 fifties in his T20I career.

Virat Kohli and his men will now be locking horns with Namibia on 8th November 2021 in their last Super-12 game. This match will take place in Dubai. India is currently placed at the 3rd spot in the points table in Group 2.
