Team India landed in Delhi early morning of July 4, Thursday. However, the Men in Blue received a rousing reception from the fans at the airport. Notably, India registered a thrilling 7-run win over South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup and ended their trophy drought after a decade as well.
Later, the entire team was welcomed with loud cheers outside their team hotel also where some members even danced to the beats of Dhol after getting off the team bus as well. Local boy Kohli also celebrated the triumph along with his family as his sister Bhawna Kohli and brother Vikas Kohli arrived at the hotel ITC Maurya in Delhi to meet him as well.
However, Bhawna shared the images of their meet-up on her Instagram story where the star India batter could be seen flaunting his winner’s medal alongside his nephews and niece as well. Notably, Kohli was adjudged Player of the Match of the final for his match-winning knock of 76 (59) as well after having a poor season. Heading into the final, he wasn’t in the best of forms, opening the innings for the first time in the tournament’s story, and scored just 75 runs in the first seven matches as well. In the final, he was seen at his best and helped India post 176/7 in their 20 overs.
