Later, the entire team was welcomed with loud cheers outside their team hotel also where some members even danced to the beats of Dhol after getting off the team bus as well. Local boy Kohli also celebrated the triumph along with his family as his sister Bhawna Kohli and brother Vikas Kohli arrived at the hotel ITC Maurya in Delhi to meet him as well.

However, Bhawna shared the images of their meet-up on her Instagram story where the star India batter could be seen flaunting his winner’s medal alongside his nephews and niece as well. Notably, Kohli was adjudged Player of the Match of the final for his match-winning knock of 76 (59) as well after having a poor season. Heading into the final, he wasn’t in the best of forms, opening the innings for the first time in the tournament’s story, and scored just 75 runs in the first seven matches as well. In the final, he was seen at his best and helped India post 176/7 in their 20 overs.

Meanwhile, team India will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 10 am on Thursday. Following that, they will depart for Mumbai where a special road show has been organized for the fans to have a glimpse of their stars with the World Cup Trophy in the evening. The squad will also be felicitated at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as well.

On the other hand, India captain Rohit Sharma soaked in the celebratory mode in New Delhi as he danced to the tunes of dhol outside the team hotel as well. Rohit led the celebrations as he was also seen dancing with the trophy in the specially chartered plane that flew the Indian cricket team and reporters from Tornado-hit Barbados. Despite the long flight, the full team looked in great spirits as they were showered with love at the airport and outside the team hotel also.
