Team India has resumed training in preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024. The majority of the squad is currently in New York, engaging in training sessions to gear up for the tournament. Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coach Soham Desai outlined the teamβs initial training objectives and activities.
Soham Desai emphasized the importance of acclimatizing the players to the new time zone as the first step in their training regimen. To achieve this, the team participated in group activities designed to help them adjust to the time difference. The players have expressed enthusiasm about competing in the USA and have been appreciating the favourable weather conditions.
From a conditioning perspective, the S&C coach underscored the necessity of initiating physical movement among the players. This approach enables the coaching staff to evaluate the players’ physical readiness and tailor individual training plans accordingly as they prepare for the T20 World Cup.

Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder, has rejoined the squad after recovering from an injury sustained during the ODI World Cup last year. Pandya, who is currently the vice-captain, is expected to play a pivotal role in Team India’s campaign in the upcoming tournament.
