This celebratory tradition echoes the team’s jubilant festivities after their historic win in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, when they also marked the occasion with an open bus procession through Mumbai’s streets.

In the thrilling final held in Barbados on June 29, India clinched victory over South Africa by a margin of seven runs, breaking an 11-year drought for ICC trophies. Virat Kohli played a pivotal role with a commanding 76-run innings, guiding India to a total of 176 runs. The Indian bowlers, led by Hardik Pandya’s three-wicket haul, restricted South Africa to 169 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.
